La rencontre de Ken et Ryu, due à la mort mystérieuse de leur maître, va les confronter à un challenge comme ils n'en ont jamais vu. Profondément perturbé par les énergies négatives enfouies au plus profond de son être, Ryu rencontre Shun, un garçon qui prétend être le frère qu'il n'a jamais connu. Des indices sur leur parenté apparaissent au cours d'un tournoi d'arts martiaux. Mais avant que Ryu n'ait pu savoir si l'apparition de Shun était une coïncidence, le jeune homme se fait enlever par des agents de l'organisation Shadowlaw. Pour le sauver, Ryu doit entreprendre un voyage initiatique sur sa propre nature et apprendre à contrôler un pouvoir qui pourrait le détruire. Aura-t-il le courage nécessaire pour affronter Akuma le vicieux seigneur de Dark Hadouh ?
