Propriétaire de la boîte de nuit « L'Œuf », Simoni, personnage peu recommandable, est assassiné. Les inspecteurs Valois et Chaville enquêtent. Valois tombe amoureux de l'ex-amie de Simoni, Lucky, une droguée, ce qui lui vaut un blâme de son chef. Lucky ayant disparu, Vallois la retrouve chez Thérèse Marken, pharmacienne et fournisseur de drogue, ex-maîtresse elle aussi de Simoni, qu'elle a assassiné sous les yeux de Lucky. Thérèse arrêtée, Vallois emmène Lucky dans une clinique et attend son retour après désintoxication.
