Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome is a 1985 Australian post-apocalyptic dystopian action film directed by George Miller and George Ogilvie and written by Terry Hayes and Miller. It is the third installment in the Mad Max franchise, as well as the only one in it to be rated PG-13 by the MPAA. The film stars Mel Gibson and Tina Turner, the former in his final performance as "Mad Max" Rockatansky, a lone roving warrior who is exiled into the desert. Billboard later listed Turner's performance in the film as the 68th best performance of a musician in a box-office film.
