جون رامبو المقاتل السابق في قوات العمليات الخاصة الأمريكية، وأحد أبطال حرب فيتنام، يعود بعد تقاعده، وحصوله على وسام شجاعة، يذهب في زيارة لأحد أصدقائه في واشنطن، ويعلم مأمور البلدة تيزل بوجوده، وهو يكن له عداء قديمًا، فيقوم باستفزازه، وتوجيه السباب له؛ مما يثير غضب رامبو، فيقوم بسبه وضربه، فيصدر المأمور أمرًا بسجنه، فيهرب إلى الغابات القريبة، ويعلم قائده السابق تروتمان بالأمر، فيحاول تداركه.

First Blood is a 1982 American action film directed by Ted Kotcheff and co-written by Sylvester Stallone, who stars as Vietnam War veteran John Rambo. It also co-stars Richard Crenna as Rambo's mentor Sam Trautman and Brian Dennehy as Sheriff Will Teasle. It is the first installment in the Rambo film series, followed by Rambo: First Blood Part II and is based on the 1972 novel First Blood by David Morrell, which many directors and studios had unsuccessfully attempted to adapt in the 1970s.
